The Ethics Challenge is designed to increase university students’ awareness of the ethical dilemmas they may face as future investment management professionals.

Student teams are provided an ethics case to study and evaluate based on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. Each team then presents its analysis and recommendations, to a panel of judges, selected by the host CFA Society®. Winning teams are based on the quality of their understanding of the ethical issues involved, recommendations, and the quality of their analysis, presentation, and responses to the judges’ questions. 

The Ethics Challenge was founded by CFA Society Toronto in 2014 and embodies the mission of CFA Institute by promoting “the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence.”

12:05 pm - Team 1 Presentation

12:30 pm - Team 2 Presentation 

1:00 pm - Team 3 Presentation

1:30 pm - Team 4 Presentation

2:00 pm - Team 5 Presentation

2:30 pm - Judges deliberate following the last presentation

2:30 pm - Attendee stretch & comfort break

3:00 pm - Winner announcement, trophy cup & prize money awarded
