Hugh McGuirk, Portfolio Manager and head of the municipal franchise at T. Rowe Price will share his thoughts around municipal market fundamentals, opportunities and risks.  He will explore why they believe active management matters in the municipal market and how T. Rowe Price utilizes their strong fundamental research to maneuver through this large market of small issuers. 

Hugh D. McGuirk is a portfolio manager in the Fixed Income Division at T. Rowe Price. He is head of the Municipal Bond team and a portfolio manager for the US Municipal Single State Bond Strategy. Mr. McGuirk is a member of the Fixed Income Steering Committee. He is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.

Mr. McGuirk has 25 years of investment experience, 23 of which have been at T. Rowe Price. Prior to joining the firm in 1993, he was an assistant vice president and municipal underwriter with Alex. Brown & Sons in Baltimore, Maryland.

Mr. McGuirk earned a B.S. in applied mathematics from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. McGuirk is the past president of the Municipal Bond Club of Baltimore and a member of the Baltimore CFA Society.
