James W. Paulsen, Ph.D., is the Chief Investment Strategist for Wells Capital Management, Inc., a business of Wells Fargo Asset Management.

Jim is frequently quoted in many national publications, including Barron’s, Financial Times, and The Wall Street Journal, and appears regularly on CNBC and Bloomberg Television. In 2014, Jim appeared on more than 70 nationally televised business news programs—twice as a special guest host on CNBC’s “SquawkBox”—and was quoted more than 800 times in print publications. BondWeek has twice named him Interest Rate Forecaster of the Year. For more than 30 years, Jim has been a publisher of his own commentary, assessing the economic trends on national and global levels through his newsletter, Economic and Market Perspective, which is distributed to more than 25,000 individuals on a monthly basis. He earned his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in economics from Iowa State University.
